Last night Phoenix was all over the Nuggets shooting 3 pointers from all over the court. Even Brian Skinner got in on the action and he has only hit 2 three pointers in his 9 year career. One of which came last night as the Suns set a franchise record for 3′s in a game and came up one shy of the all time record.
Hall of famer Joe Gibbs retired today after his second tenure with the Washington Redskins. His second time around wasn’t as good as his first time around, in which he won 3 of 4 Superbowl appearances and was elected to the NFL Hall of Fame.
In his second time around, Gibbs spent 4 years with the Skins and made 2 playoff appearances. He went 31-36 overall going 1-2 in the playoffs. Not the most impressive record but if you take into consideration everything this team and this coach had to endure this season, you have to be impressed.
The LSU Tigers are the 2007 National Champions after their shallacking of the Ohio State Buckeye’s last night. After falling behind 10-0 early the Tigers went on to score 31 unanswered points and didn’t look back. The final score was 38-24.
So in the beginning of this season, Shawn Marion was whining about not getting enough recognition on his team after Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire. Well here you go Shawn, good game. 
Marion led the Suns to a 137-115 victory over the Nuggets last night. Marion had 27 points, 14 boards, 6 blocks and made 5 of the Suns 20 3-pointers. If a team makes 20 3-pointers in a game it’s damn near impossible to beat them.
It’s been a long time since the last time the Chargers won a playoff game. 13 years to be exact. Last year they even fired Marty Schottenheimer because he couldn’t win a playoff game.
It didn’t look good in this one in the beginning. They were down 6-0 at halftime. The Titans defense stifled the NFL’s leading rusher LaDainian Tomlinson as well and the Chargers were basically unable to get anything going. Their gameplan going in was to stop Tomlinson, which they did. They dared Philip Rivers to beat them and he was able to help them to a 17-6 victory.
Ok so the drama between Roger Clemens and Brian McNamee and the now infamous Mitchell Report is continuing, the plot is thickening, and whatever other dramatic statement you can think of is happening. The Bucs came out with a good game plan on this one. Based on recent Giants playoff history, Eli Manning’s inconsistency has done them in and has caused them to have first round exits the last two seasons. Despite the fact the Eli Manning played a good game last week against the Patriots, they decided to come out and plan to stop the Giants efficient running attack and see if Manning would be able to beat them. Well he stepped up big and he did. The Giants went into Tampa Bay and won the game 24-14.
So today is my 24th birthday. Wow, I feel like I’m getting old…. I’ll be writing some updates a little but I’m relaxing right now. I finally got a job today. I’m going to be a transporter at Methodist hospital. I can still potentially getting a job at Live Sports Cafe this weekend. Wish me luck.
So I’m eager to finally see Roger Clemens and his former trainer Brian McNamee in court on Jan 16th. Clemens, McNamee and three others will be asked testify under oath before a congressional committee.
