A Gallup poll was taken on the views of legalizing marijuana in the U.S. It is now extra clear that majority of the U.S wants the legalization of marijuana. 58% of the people believe that we should end prohibition on marijuana. The legalization in Colorado and Washington state have definitely helped in this process. The people are seeing how marijuana is helping us more than it’s hurting us.

It was no surprise when I read that Americans 65 and older are the only age group that still opposes legalizing marijuana. Although, it is up 14% since 2011. That makes me very happy to see that it is moving up even though it’s slowly. I’m proud to say my grandpa (70) believes in legalization and he’s never or wanted to use marijuana. He’s as, if not more, passionate about it than me.

The next 2 years will be a big test if this poll is entirely true. A lot of states and cites are getting ready to try and legalize marijuana. Let’s hope everyone gets out and votes!
