Center Valtteri Filppula scored twice to pace the Red Wings, who won for the fifth time in their last six games and improved to 27-7-3 overall. St. Louis, playing in front of its largest home crowd of the season, fell to 18-13-3.

I had never heard of him before the other night but now everyone will know who he is. Two nights ago he scored 5 goals in one game against the Rangers. Rough night for the Rangers.

Things haven’t been going so great for the Penguins lately. A night after getting owned by the Flyers in Philly 8-2, the Pens rolled into New York hoping for a different outcome, their hopes didn’t come true. They were completely outplayed in every way and lost to the Rangers 4-0.
The Flyers have become such welcome guests in New Jersey since the 2004-2005 NHL lockout. They bring plenty of paying fans, but they have gone home losers for 10 consecutive games. There game was owned by the Red Wings. Henrik Zetterberg got his second career hat trick and Dominik Hasek stopped 19 shots on route to their 5-0 rout of the Minnesota Wild. It was a good game for the Red Wings but not for the Wild, especially Marion Gaborik. Heres a video of how Hasek completely took Gaborik out
In a matchup between two of the original six teams in the NHL, the Red Wings took the game powered by Pavel Datsyuk’s two goals. The fact that the Canadiens had a rookie in the goal probably help. Rook Carey Price did the best he could but the Red Wings attack was too much for him as the defeated the Canadiens 4-1.
