Chilean Marihuana March: Cultiva tus Derechos 2010

As some of you know, I come from Chile, a beautiful country that, according to statistics, has the highest rate of marihuana consumption in Latin America. Does that sound perfect? Yes indeed. The “not so perfect part”? Marihuana isn’t legal here, in fact, it’s considered a hard drug according to Chilean laws.

But that doesn’t stop people from organizing, creating and getting together so their voices can be heard.

That’s why our friends at Movimental along with Amigos del Cannabis have, once again organized the Marcha Cultiva tus Derechos (which literally means, Cultivate your Rights March).

Of course I had to be there taking pictures for HMJ, it was a big party for every pot smoker in this country and some people were even there with their kids and parents, there was amazing live music, over 10,000 people and weed everywhere. Can’t wait for next year.  Check out the pictures after the jump.

Special thanks to Movimental, Amigos del Cannabis and gorgeous Carla who let me borrow a couple of her pictures, they were all super nice with me.
