Chris Christie, NJ Governor: “Montclair Will Become The Medical Marijuana Capital Of New Jersey”

It’s been a long 2 years since New Jersey originally pass their medical marijuana bill and it still hasn’t actually gone into effect. There have been multiple locations proposed to setup medical marijuana shops but many New Jersey towns refused to allow medical marijauna dispensaries to operate in their town.

Upper Freehold, Westampton and Maple Shade have all said that they don’t want to accommodate the proposed dispenses being setup in their neighborhoods. The program is contracted and tightly controlled but there are still lots of uptight people out there.  Many of which acknowledge that medical marijuana will not affect them one way or the other but still choose to oppose it being brought to their town.

New Jersey isn’t all bad though. My hometown, Montclair is one of the few towns that is completely open minded about the prospect of bringing in medical marijuana.  I have never been more proud to be from New Jersey and Montclair in particular.   Anyone who knows, knows that Montclair has always been a kick ass town anyway.

The video above shows star ledger reporter Brian Donohue (@BrianDonohue)visiting all of the towns where medical marijuana was proposed and rejected.   Shouts to NJ.com for this story.

The video below shows Governor Christie admitting that drug policies have failed in the past. When you hear a republican admitting such things, you KNOW times are changing.
