Tennessee’s Senior guard Chris Lofton had surgery to treat testicular cancer that was discovered after a failed drug test last year. During the test it was discovered that Lofton potentially had a tumor.

The whole thing started when Lofton was randomly selected to take a drug test during the 2007 NCAA tournament. Afterwards, Lofton told ESPN.com that he had surgery in May of 2007 and had four weeks of Radation during that month.

Despite the fact that he was diagnosed with Cancer, he made 431 3-pointers during his career which ranks 3rd in NCAA history. He was also selected as a second-team all american.

“There was a point this past season that I was asked about Chris Lofton’s health almost every day,” Pearl said in the statement. “Chris Lofton is one of the toughest players I have ever been around. Not once did he make an issue of what he has gone through. Never once did he complain.”

He’s got some big cojones, especially for coming out with this now.
