Cypress Hill’s Eric Bobo Talks Classic Hip Hop, Chilean Weed and His New Album

Even if you didn’t know the name of the individual guys that make up the group Cypress Hill you can’t help but to realize that this is one of hip hops pioneer bands since they’ve been making music since the mid ’90’s.

Although Cypress Hill never made it to ‘mainstream’ radio (which may have been a blessing for us all, they stayed organic and original) they have nevertheless contributed to our urban music culture by representing for Latinos way before Pit Bull and Big Pun ever did.

Eric Bobo, son of the Latin jazz player, Willie Bobo, has been the percussion of the group since the mid ’90’s. He chats it up with Miami’s Crossfade magazine about digging in the crates and Chilean weed.
