I know when I see those online petitions coming to me via email, Facebook, Twitter, the news and any other form of medium you can think of I often wonder just how much use these things really are?
Does clicking a link cause some type of systematic ripple in the universe for good and not evil?
Yes, says Cannabis Culture, and thanks to the Obama administration’s We The People website, regular people like you and me can post issues and create petitions. Any petition that garners the support of 5,000 signatures within 30 days will be eligible for consideration and an official reply from the White House.
Having reached the goal in just nine days, the Pardon Marc Emery petition will receive an official reply from the White House. Only 36 petitions out of hundreds have reached the threshold.
This has turned into a ray of hope for cannabis prisoner of war Marc Emery who is prisoner of the United States after conviction involving his sale of cannabis seeds. I appreciate this effort by the White House to allow for easier consideration and disposal of what ‘we the people’ feel are human/civil rights violations.
