I am absolutely not one for award shows, but during the past few years I have taken a liking to the Cyphers performed annually at the BET Hip Hop Awards.
Now that this year’s round of Cyphers have aired the conversation starts on who had the best verse.
At the time this went live I hadn’t even heard an unedited version for any of these songs but right now, Hail Mary Jane is the easiest way to get to all the videos in the same place.
Please keep in mind that upon inception, the Cypher was more about the verses than looking cool in the camera. This year it just felt like the rappers were more concerned with looking “cool” in front of the camera than anything else but if you syphon out the theatrics, there are still quality bars to be heard.
At the bottom of this post there is a poll where you can vote for who you thought had the bets verse in the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher.
