Feds Now Cracking Down On Marijuana Related Ads

Just as you think our government has already gone too far and pushed enough buttons on the medical marijuana issue in California, they are now also targeting any medical marijuana related ads. This includes T.V and radio advertisements that San Diego’s U.S attorney, Laura E. Duffy, is now specifically targeting to further the enforcement efforts in California.

‘I’m not just seeing print advertising,’ Duffy said. ‘I’m actually hearing radio and seeing TV advertising. It’s gone mainstream. Not only is it inappropriate —- one has to wonder what kind of message we’re sending to our children — it’s against the law.’

So since federal law says people aren’t allowed to place ads for illegal drugs, which in their eye marijuana is an illegal drug, even medical marijuana states aren’t allowed to place ads regarding it.  I think that soon enough the government is going to be forced to realize what the people want, and right now the people are saying they want cannabis for medical purposes and now at least 50% are saying they want it fully legalized. This means we’re officially at a tipping point in this country regarding marijuana legalization.

Even if the feds are successful with blocking TV and radio ads, they will find alternative ways of advertising and spreading the word, just as tobacco companies did when the same thing happened to them in 1971.

All I can say is that the time is without doubt nearing for a reasonable discussion and debate on whether legalization makes sense for this country and at the moment most signs are saying yes.
