Former Broncos Running Back Under Investigation by DEA

KDVR in Colorado is reporting that Reuben Droughns, former running back for the Denver Broncos (2002-2004), Cleveland Browns, and most recently the New York Giants, where he was released in 2009, is under investigation by the DEA for growing marijuana in his Centenniel, CO home.  Federal agents spotted plants in an extra bedroom as they searched his house.

Reuben’s brother and mother produced medical marijuana cards, but Droughns did not possess one.  As we wrote about before in the Starbucks piece, Colorado allows medical marijuana (although maybe not for long).   There were also questions about a poker game he holds in his house, so that might break some rules as well.  Considering the bevy of NFL running backs that knock up women at an astounding rate and fail to pay child support, this isn’t so bad.  Leave poor Reuben alone ya’ll (I can write that since I have family from Indiana).
