I just came across this cute little letter from the legendary comedian Groucho Marx written to the troops in Suriname in 1943. Read through a little piece of history to see how he cleverly made reference to a summer of “accidental” cannabis use. I’m a fan of any one who shows the troops some love and you KNOW we’re definitely fans of the green type of affection.

Groucho doesn’t disappoint, and cracks a couple of gentle jokes about life back home and his attempt to grow some vegetables; there are even a few genuinely touching remarks towards the end.

Seems like implied marijuana use, pop culture and the *wink wink* has been going on forever. It’s nearly seventy years later and nothing much has changed..that’s so depressing that now I really DO need a joke to cheer me up…bummer.
