Hank Steinbrenner calling out the Yankees
The baby boss Hank Steinbrenner is not happy with how the Yankees have been playing lately. At 19-21 the Yankees are fourth place in the division. Don’t they seem to always start out like this?
So much for the Yankees “restoring order to the universe,” like Hank started before the season started.
“We’ve got to forget about all the injuries and start playing our butts off,” Steinbrenner told The Post. The Yankees were buried by the Rays on Monday. These are difficult days for Joe Girardi’s club.
“The bottom line is that the team is not playing the way it is capable of playing,” Steinbrenner said. “These players are being paid a lot of money and they had better decide for themselves to earn that money.”
Agreed. All the Yankees get paid a lot of money and guys like Alex Rodriguez and Jorge Posada are getting paid for nothing right now since they are injured.
I fully expect that the Yankees will make a move around the All Star break like they always do.
