Idk if this reply is way too late, but whatever…

imo opinion he would still be alive, because he took all those medications to fall asleep while with cannabis he probably would just have taken different strains, I mean, if you have the chemical medicines and the natural ones almost everyone is going to take the natural ones…

I don't think we should put things that way. Maybe you are right, maybe he were alive if marijuana wouldn't be legal but how does a man reaches to a point where his life depends on drugs? Heath is responsible for what he did, we cannot bring him back now but we cannot blame marijuana being illegal for his death neither.

You maked a good point. Not that we can actually be sure of that. But weed does help my insomnia…but in terms of depression it has different effects on everyone. I know it makes some people more depressed.

But it would be great it doctors and scientists can put more energy and time to study marijuana and its effects because it does have great benefits. Legalization needs to happen

thanks to everyone for being so open with the comments…

I don't know if I should have definitely said that he would have been alive but I think if it was legal, there wouldn't be the stigma of him quitting weed being "cleaning up his life" as the article put it. He probably wouldn't have felt guilty or pressured to quit and if he was on a regular dosage he could have treated his problem..

We will never really know though. RIP Heath Ledger…
