In an offer that seems to good to be true, activist and dispensary owner Dana Larsen has offered to help the Langley Medical Marijuana Dispensary that was closed down after a raid by the Feds back in July. Even better is that this isn’t the first offer of resources that long standing establishment has made to others who have suffered a loss at the hands of police confiscation.
The manager of a Vancouver medical marijuana dispensary has offered help to the people trying to resurrect a similar dispensary in Langley.
This is a perfect example of the organic, humanitarian side to the marijuana culture. The marijuana plant comes from the Earth and can be shared without fear that the supply with be diminished. Marijuana unlike ‘medicine’ is not owned by corporations and so people like Dana Larsen can ‘lend’ the resources needed to help others ‘in the struggle’ of providing medicine and relief to patients.
Why has Larsen been able to operate without police interference? She credits the Langley police and mayor’s departments involvement in the local pot business as one reason. When given discretion over how to handle marijuana related criminal issues, the police seem less interested in chasing business owners with licenses who serve prescription having sick people. Could this be an indication how public opinion can influence police behavior? You be the judge.
