We’re gonna go ahead and say that Maryland or New York becomes number 15 even though only 14 states have passed legislation legalizing medical marijuana. A recent article in Maneater says a new bill has been sponsored supporting the legalization of marijuana for medical purposes in Missouri:
The bill states medical marijuana should be prescribed for a debilitating medical condition such as cancer, HIV, hepatitis C or Alzheimer’s disease.
If passed, the legislation would outline a system for registration of patients using marijuana for medical purposes and would require the state Department of Health and Senior Services to keep a confidential list of all patients with access to the drug.
This seems well done and we commend Rep. Kate Meiners D-Kansas City for sponsoring it, there doesn’t seem to be much of a chance it will pass.
Although Missouri’s bill has 16 co-sponsors, Schaaf (R-St. Joseph) said it wouldn’t likely make it to committee, let alone pass into law. He said he is not in favor of the bill’s language and many people don’t understand the issue.
It’s nice that it’s out there, but I guess the language was too murky and it would let those degenerate recreational users in on the action in Missouri. Can’t have that. The first comment after the article summed it up nicely:

Read the bill! It has nothing to do with sick people getting medicine and everything to do with normalizing marijuana use. The bill even allows for designating pot smoking areas to be set up a work, school, and youth centers!!
