Why does it seem like California is moving backwards in ending prohibition more than forwards? Recently the Supervisors of L.A. and Orange counties voted 4-1 to ban marijuana dispensaries that are operating in unincorporated territories.
That measure, approved unanimously, directs county staff to take advantage of their ability to fine illegal dispensaries $1,000 a day. Although the county has used other tools in attempting to close unauthorized shops, assessing hefty fines has never been done, according to county staff.
Why can’t we just accept the fact that people like to smoke weed, the majority of tokers are harmless, and the dangerous ones are the ones foxin’ with the harder stuff. So just leave us daily tokers alone.
