When McHenry County Sheriff’s Police raided the home of a man living in Cary, IL outside Chicago, they found a small grow operation of 16 plants, a puny 100 grams of “processed marijuana,” and a five foot long alligator. I think we should all be a little disappointed if the gator’s name wasn’t “Elvis.”

Deputies were acting on a search warrant, but there’s no information about how they were tipped off to the operation, or how exactly a bunch of cops from Illinois were able to capture the saurian Cerberus. The alligator was turned over to the McHenry County Animal Control Office for safekeeping, and the McHenry County Sheriff estimated the value of the seized marijuana to be about $2,100.

Nicholas Cosmano, 26, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession with intent to deliver, manufacturing of cannabis sativa plants and possession of drug paraphernalia. No word on whether or not Cosmano was found to be in possession of a white on white suit.
