The next luminary in my “Masters of Rap” series is Biggie Smalls, aka The Notorious B.I.G. A man of unparalleled lyrical skill, Biggie rose from dealing drugs in the streets of Brooklyn to the pinnacle of the Billboard charts.

There are so many rappers today making millions who aren’t fit to carry Biggie’s jock. Gunned down on March 9, 1997, all we have now are re-mixes and re-hashes (much like with Tupac). So enjoy what’s left of a man who we lost way too soon.
