Moises Alou hopes Steve Bartman’s life is ok: He’s a little late

So we all remember the Steve Bartman incident from 2003 right? The one where he supposedly cost the Cubs a trip to the World Series for the first time since 1945?

We all remember Moises Alou’s angry reaction to the foul ball being taken out of his hands and how he claimed that he had “close to a 100% chance” of catching it. Apparently he feels really bad about the whole situation now (though not as bad a Bartman does I’m sure).

“Everywhere I play, even now, people still yell, `Bartman! Bartman!’ I feel really bad for the kid,” he told Associated Press columnist Jim Litke, who ran into Alou at a Macy’s department store in New York.

“You know what the funny thing is?” he continued. “I wouldn’t have caught it, anyway.”

Ok so let me get this straight, after all these years now you finally decide to come out and tell the truth.  I guess I should probably understand because the last time that he told the truth, he admitted that he pees on his hands before games.

Anyway, Bartman’s life has been a living hell since the incident in 2003.  He had to be escorted out of the building and was blamed the Cubs losing that game.  He has been threatened and his family has been threatened as well.  Moises Alou should have come out and said this years ago, for Bartman’s sake at least.
