Varejao’s money grubbing dispute may be over

Espn reported to that the Bobcats have signed disgruntled Cavs foward Anderson Varejao to to an offer sheet. The terms are reported to be 3 years and $17 million.

That means that the Cavs have 7 days to match the offer or else Varejao will be suiting up for the struggling Bobcats. It would be his first time playing this season, he hasn’t played at all due to his contract dispute.

“Anderson has established himself as a very good young player in this league,” said Charlotte general manager Rod Higgins. “We look forward to the opportunity to add him to the core of our franchise as we continue to grow and improve.”

I say the Cavs should let him go. It will most definitely hurt the already depleted Cavs who are without Larry Hughes and Donyelle Marshall, however Varejao needs to realize that he is not a superstar. He most known for his crazy hair and flopping to get charges in the playoffs. He shouldn’t be trying to squeeze so much money out of the Cavs especially considering that he only averaged 6.8 points and 6.7 rebounds. He is going to go from a team that went to the finals last year, to a team that he a lot of young talent but won’t even make the playoffs anytime soon. The Cavs should let him go and move on.
