Lots of regulatory legal obligations are being satisfied by emerging cannabis companies. Now what can that mean? As reported in The Wall Street Journal Market Watch, Marijuana, Inc. [don’t miss the “inc.”] released their Initial Company Information and Disclosure Statement . There is a link provided to the report, which is detailed and in some legal speak. This initial filing is the company’s first step towards designation with OTC Markets Group as a “Pink Sheets Current Information.” It means they give honest, current information to investors. Think of that like earning a college degree — the fact that you have this status says something good about you. Here’s the heart of the report:
ABOUT MARIJUANA, INC. focus is on the peripheral businesses created by the quickly emerging, and growing, multibillion dollar medical marijuana and hemp industries. Marijuana, Inc. (pinksheets:HEMP) is not involved in the cultivation or marketing of medical marijuana. It is, however, the company’s belief that legalization on a federal level will one day occur in all 50 states. With that in mind, the company is planning on gaining substantial market share once marijuana prohibition ends. *Pending any federal licensing or other requirements, that may be enacted after marijuana prohibition ends.
Its amazing. While people get arrested each and every day; while Marc Emery wastes in a cell for selling seeds, and while lives are denied the healing medicine cannabis can be, Wall Street gets positioned to make money, which is the American way, is it not? I got no argument with making a buck. But,
We long ago passed the place where discussion of cannabis policy could be rationale. No fair and honest person can say cannabis prohibition makes sense in any way. No one believable says such things anymore. Only Mitt Romney still basks in Reefer Madness. I am sorry to say, this has become something much more fundamental. It’s an old story in our world: Who is going to enforce, and who is going to obey? Politicians lack the courage to stand up and make change. So we have to do it, all of us, together. There are more of us than anyone imagines. Once we stand up things can change. Until we stand up things stay the same. It’s scary, but it’s time to choose. Time to come out for cannabis.
How does the future look to you?
