National Spelling Bee: Numbnut?!?!?!

Ok so before I show you this really funny video from the National Spelling Bee, I have a question.  Why is it that the Spelling Bee is considered a sport??  Why do they show it on ESPN.   I mean are they trying to make geeks feel like jocks?  Do they want them to feel cool???

Anyway, heres a video from the spelling bee that features the 2008 winner Sameer Nishra getting tripped up on a word.  Is he a numbnut?
