New Mexico Governor Named in Suit Over Marijuana Licensing

Nonprofit groups in New Mexico seeking approval to sell marijuana are about to take it to the courts. Yes, they’re suing Governor Martinez and the state health department over not enough applications being approved.

Before anyone can start selling pot they have to form a nonprofit, select a board, and set up a business, but since “New Mexico’s medical marijuana law went into effect, only 25 nonprofits have been approved out of 116 applications.” That’s a lot of unhappy groups. I always love it when marijuana growers use the law to grow marijuana. It’s poetic and makes me happy. The courts are for everyone!
