Steve DeAngelo will be releasing a new strain of medical marijuana without the psycho-active components. If you’re unfamiliar with Steve, he’s been appearing in magazines, newspapers and on television for years as a leading spokesperson surrounding medical marijuana. DeAngelo comes from the Harborside Health Center in Oakland, CA, a medical marijuana dispensary that does some of the leading research in the field of medical marijuana and marijuana education and awareness. He’s actually one of those people who don’t get enough attention, but every patient that uses medical marijuana owes him a big one.
The Norml Blog tipped us off about the new strain, set to be unveiled this Friday:
DeAngelo will announce the availability of this type of non-psychoactive cannabis that has been lab tested with California strains with CBD (Cannabidol) at the 6th Annual National Clinical Conference on Cannabis Therapeutics on Friday, April 16th at 12PM Noon at The Crown Plaza Hotel, 801 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, Rhode Island.

…It sounds like its going to be weaker. Why would you want to remove the psychoactive components? Thats like making a steak into a pill… I like the juices and fat.
While this guy seems like a bad ass breeder and knowledgeable dude- why we would want to remove THC leaving only CBD and CBN is beyond me. Medicinally the psychoactive stuff has benefits…
curious. I want more.

There are many users out there that do not want to get intoxicated while reaping some of the medical benefits of cannabis. I don't think that Steve is proposing we do away with all marijuana containing THC, he is more looking to offer a different variety that will help a certain spectrum of people.
