In light of the recent heat put on the cannabis industry many people are choosing to or are being forced to shut down their businesses or risk being arrested and fined into oblivion. One such person is Richard Lee, Oaksterdam University Founder and the owner of the now closed Coffee Blue Sky dispensary, who was forced to close down his business due to police pressure.
Lee has since opened back up in a new location and urges other cannabis businesses to do the same; he feels like anything less would be folding under pressure due to the stupidity of prohibition.
Criticizers worry that the medical marijuana only fuels casual drug use.
He doesn’t deny that medical marijuana often ends up in the hands of recreational users; he just refuses to call it a problem.
So what do you think? Should people in the business continue to press on in hopes that the revenue generated will cause our government to respond to the financial benefit of allowing us to have some form of access to marijuana?
Is now the time to stop pretending that casual smokers are any less human than those that have medical issues and use marijuana to medicate? I feel like it doesn’t matter. Why split hairs when we are ALL citizens who are demanding what we want?
Don’t you sometimes get tired of being treated like a kid that has to justify your needs and wants all the dam time!!
We all salute Richard Lee for taking one for the team and for the almighty FU*K YOU FEDS! stance he’s taking on our behalf. I wish him Godspeed.
