More evidence that the time has come to welcome the cannabis plant back home.
Ohio’s existing marijuana laws are “useless” and enforcing them is a “major waste of resources for law enforcement,” Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters said on Tuesday in revealing his support for legalization of marijuana. Deters, a Republican and one of the state’s toughest law-and-order prosecutors, said legalization is “coming across the country. The key is how to regulate it.”
On Monday, Deters announced that he appointed a task force to work with ResponsibleOhio, the group backing a marijuana legalization constitutional issue for the fall ballot, to do a full study of the positive and negative impacts of legalization.
