Oklahoma Governor Speaks Against Medical Marijuana Through Facebook

A 45-minute online town hall meeting was sponsored by the Oklahoma Republican Party on August 4th in attempt to reach a more broad audience. After going through the general town hall meeting talk Governor Mary Fallin took to questions sent via Facebook giving their audience of about 150 viewers a chance to take any issues up with their lawmakers. After a resounding amount of questions came about the Oklahoma’s possibility of cannabis legalization, Gov. Fallin had this to say:

I just feel like that marijuana use, if it’s legalized, will lead to possible other substance abuse.

To defend her opinion, the governor cited that when going through the pardon and parole requests from the state, about 90% of those cases involved people dealing with problems with substance abuse. But the Greenies in Oklahoma aren’t calling for the legalization of drugs, just weed.
