Oklahoma Trying to Send Non-Violent Offenders to Prison for LIFE

I’ve never spent an extended period of time in Oklahoma. I don’t think that will change any time soon. The Oklahoma State Senate passed a bill on to the House by a vote of 44-2, which would make the first time offenders cooking hash(?!?!?!) to prise from 2 years to LIFE! There is no chance for parole! I know. I know. Peep more after the jump. Converting marijuana to hashish isn’t a fun hobby stoners partake in from time to time, it’s SOMETHING THAT COULD THEORETICALLY GET YOU SENT TO PRISON FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!

Conviction of a first offense of cooking hashish would result in a prison sentence from two years to life in prison. Sentences would be doubled under a second offense, and those convicted would not be eligible for a suspended sentence or probation.

Mark Woodward of the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (OBNDD) said the goal of the measure would be to “send a message” about illegal drugs in Oklahoma. The message he’s sending is do any drug as long as it’s not hash. Pretty soon, I’m just gonna move to Canada.

Also how ridiculous sounding is OBNDD? But it does exist.
