Back in September we reported that police Commissioner Ray Kelly instructed the NYPD to halt arrests of people found with marijuana that may have been discovered through intrusive means. Since that decision was made, 13% fewer arrests were made than the same period last year. More than 46,000 people have been arrested on marijuana charges in the Big Apple this year. Let’s hope that number goes down next year and you New Yorkers don’t have to be so paranoid. Spotted from the NY Daily News.
