Since When Is A Weed Charge So Funny?
Ex-NBA player Blount sentenced to 1 year in prison for marijuana charges
Former NBA player Corie Blunt Blount was sentenced to one year in prison in his plea arrangement he made after getting popped with drug charges. After getting caught with 28 lbs of weed, Blount ended up going to prison for two felony marijuana charges after the trafficking charges were dropped.
Blount was arrested Dec. 4 after sheriff’s deputies intercepted 11 pounds of marijuana sent to him at a relative’s house. Investigators said they found another 18 pounds in a subsequent search of his home.
Although Judge Craig Hedric did not sentence Blount to the maximum 10 years in prison, he rejected Blount’s claim that the marijuana was intended for personal use and to share with friends.
“Cheech and Chong would have had a hard time smoking that much,” Hedric told Blount.
Hedric fined Blount $10,000 and ordered him to surrender two vehicles and $34,000 in cash seized in the bust.
People get arrested for weed charges everyday but it is not everyday that it is reported on ESPN and their reporters find it hilarious that the player got into that sad situation. It happened today though. Awful Announcing found the video of Chris McKendry laughing it up about the situation. Still not sure if she was laughing at “Cheech and Chong” joke from the judge or the fact that Corie’s last name is Blount and he got a marijuana charge.
