Smart Dudes: “Marijuana’s Effect on Brain Minimal”

I love it when science is on my side. NORML posted findings on their website that suggests that marijuana’s impact on the brain is “minimal”. The study was conducted by The National Center for Biotechnology Information, a government funded organization. So now my friends, we have government funded scientists proving that marijuana is virtually harmless to your brain.
I think NCBI said it best…
“Functional neuroimaging studies suggest a modulation of global and prefrontal metabolism both during the resting state and after the administration of THC/marijuana cigarettes. Minimal evidence of major effects of cannabis on brain structure has been reported.“
I hope everyone who’s stoned right now didn’t have their head’s explode trying to read that. Lots of big words, I know. “Administered a marijuana cigarette“? Just say, “Smoked a J”. This also makes me extremely jealous of the test subjects used in these experiments. Do you think they got paid to smoke a doobie with electrodes attached to their foreheads? And why didn’t I see the ad in the local paper asking for, “Willing participants for a study on the effects of cannabis?” Trust me, I’d be showing up early.
But dumbed down, all you need to know is that if you spark up a bowl later, don’t worry about hurting your brain. Worry about your lungs maybe, but not your brain. Now with this remarkable finding, will Congress finally step up and support the de-criminalization of marijuana? Probably not. But I can dream can’t I? Also, I’m thinking about becoming a scientist so I can get money from Uncle Sam to conduct studies like this. Not a bad gig.

Good Times,

I'm a little bummed to see this site support decriminalization. If I'm correct this isn't the site creator, just a supporting artist but still. Decriminalization is such an asinine idea. Make small amounts only punishable by a fine? Why should I pay money for ingesting a plant that is nearly harmless? Legalize or nothing. It's the only logical solution to stimulate the economy and to stop reverse the effects of 70 years of illogical drug laws based on lies.

De-criminalization to me is the same as legalizing it in my book. I'm obviously a supporter of the full legalization of marijuana movement… its just words man. There's a time and a place to get pissy and argumentative and this certainly isn't the case. Chill out dude, lets fight the man, not each other over the proper usage of words. And in order to get marijuana fully legalized, we'll have to get it "de-criminalized" first, then fully legal bud. That's just the way the government works. No hard feelings, I'd still burn with you bro. Sorry for the Confusion.

That is a great point about Legalize or nothing. Decriminalization like Amsterdam seems to work well.
