Stephon Marbury And the Knicks Finally Go Their Separate Ways
Marbury and Knicks Agree on Buyout
Stephon Marbury and the Knicks have finally decided it was best to part ways and everyone in New York in rejoicing. This clears up lots of cap room and moves them out of a sad chapter in Knicks history.
Stephon hadn’t played a minute this season and this finally ends a tense situation and clears Marbury up to go to the Celtics.
NY Times – Marbury agreed to a contract buyout after a four-hour meeting with Donnie Walsh, the team’s president, and was granted his release. The team filed a waiver request after the N.B.A. was closed for business, so the 48-hour waiver process will begin Wednesday morning.
Marbury will be eligible to sign with a new team Friday. According to multiple news media outlets, he intends to sign with the defending champion Boston Celtics.
We will see how things work out with Marbury where ever he lands. Hopefully he doesn’t destroy another good team like he is infamous for doing.
So I don’t see very many Knicks fans missing Starbury, especially with moments like this to remember him by.
If Marbury goes to the C’s and the Knicks sneak into the playoffs and they see each other in the first round, who ya got?
