So obviously I’m a new contributor to Hail Mary Jane, still learning how things work around here and I’m really liking it so far (I hope you’re enjoying my posts as well). I was looking through some of the post categories to see what I should write about and I noticed that there is a Video Game category. I looked into it and saw that there aren’t any posts in that category. Now if you know me you know I’m big into gaming, I love casually gaming and competitive game. Nothing is more fun then smokin’ a bowl and playing some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
I thought, if it was cool with the big guys, that I would start posting some Video Game related content. I figured I could post updates about new games, new game add-ons, and gaming industry news. Let me know if you want to see more if this kind of content and I will be more than happy to post it.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) is no doubt one of the biggest games of the year. Many people I personally know, who aren’t big into gaming, bought this game because it is such a great game. But this post isn’t about MW2 unit sales, it is about gamers who are using MW2 to make some good money. This massive online First Person Shooter (FPS) is a great game but just like everything else that is good and fun there are people trying to ruin it and exploit any and all flaws. There is a rather large group of gamers who hold “10th Prestige” lobbies for money. What are “10th prestige” lobbies you might ask, well that’s what I’m here for.
Modern Warfare 2, like many other FPS games is based on a military style ranking system. As you play the game you earn experience points that allow you to rank up and unlock more weapons and equipment to use in online gameplay. You rank up from a level 1 to a level 70 and once you hit 70 you are given to option to “Prestige” which resets your rank to 1 and lets you rank up again, but this time with a new rank emblem (depicted above), you can do this a total of 10 times (10th Prestige). Well there is a group of gamers who own a specific type of Xbox 360, known as a “JTagged” Xbox. This allows the host of the lobby to manipulate the code in the game to allow you to get insane amounts of experience points with little to no work. Thus allowing you to rank up from a level 1 1st prestige to a level 70 10th prestige. These gamers are charging people various amounts of money and Microsoft Points (Xbox Live Marketplace currency) to be invited to their lobby so that you can “hack” your account to a level 70 10th prestige.
This is really a sign of the times. Kids are making large amounts of money by cheating at a video game. First we had the whole blog revolution where people could make a comfortable living off of their website, now we have kids making good money by playing video games with some random kids. There are quite a few different websites that gamers can go to, to find someone with one of these “JTagged” Xboxes, and because of the growing number of sites, there is also a growing number of scammers. These scammers claim to be able to get you to a level 70 10th prestige but in all reality they are just taking your money and Microsoft Point, in some cases you can get your account hacked and stolen.
