Strain Review: Sleestack [Sativa]

When I visited Spokane, Washington’s first recreational marijuana shop, Spokane Green Leaf, I had to ask which strain I couldn’t leave the store without. Sleestack was that choice. A weed with not only a cult following, but actual cult TV origins, this one definitely lived up to my expectations. A 70-30% sativa-dominant bud, it was delightful.

THC Content: 20.9%

Sight: Long, dense yellow nuggets. Fluffy with burnt-orange hairs and purple highlights.

Smell: Pleasantly burnt and cheesy. Bright and slightly lemony.

Taste: Light and flowery; slightly sour upon exhale.

High: Deep and uplifting high; mellow and bright. Head high.

Rating: 3.6 out of 5

Bred from strains Shrom and Martian Mean Green (the 2005 and 2006 High Times Cannabis Cup prize winners), Sleestack had large shoes to fill. One large and relaxing inhale brought a deep, mellow and uplifting high.

Grown by Yield Farms, Sleestack’s roots come from a cult TV classic. A quirky origin indeed, it’s named from the 70’s TV show, The Land of The Lost’s alien race, the Sleestaks. No one is quite sure where the spelling change took place.

I kept waiting to see green aliens and the strong high was alien-like for sure. An award-winning strain with award-winning roots, it won third place in the 2009 Spannabis Champions Cup for outdoor grown bud, and it continues to satisfy users today.

Smoke this outdoor-grown strain for a bright high that brings energy, clarity and happiness. Thank you, Spokane Green Leaf!
