Chapman University scientist Keun-Hang Susan Yang discovered a way to separate the two key chemicals found in marijuana, Tetraydrocannabinol (THC ) and Cannabidiol (CBD). With the ability to separate these two chemicals they can create a new prescription form of marijuana that will have the same nausea-reducing effects of cannabis, but no high to go along with it.
“One of the things marijuana does is to reduce vomiting and nausea problems,” said Yang, a professor who specializes in bioscience and computational biology. “People found out that THC is a problem because of the psychological actions of it. But CBD alone can potentially be used for treatment of this condition.”
This is pretty cool for people dealing with nausea who don’t necessarily enjoy the euphoric feelings that come with THC, but as for me…I’m gonna stick with the real deal.
