You can add rapper Nelly’s name to the list of celebrities that are been popped by the Border Patrol on the now infamous stretch of Interstate 10 in West Texas. The rappers tour bus was pulled over Wednesday night October, 31st around 8pm. The border officials searched the bus with the aid of a drug sniffing pooch. The dog alerted the officials to a box that once opened revealed 10 lbs. of the jane, 36 little baggie’s of heroin and a loaded .45 caliber handgun. Nelly claims the drugs and gun belong to his bodyguard Brian Keith Jones whom the Hudspeth County sheriff’s deputies did arrest and detain. The rapper was detained but not arrested and later tweeted his feelings on the matter and had this to say about Jones: “I’m not gone front I’m MAD as Hell about this,” he tweeted, reserving most of his anger for Jones: “2have some1 who works 4u n who u call a friend 4 ova 10years jeopardize ur life WTF?… No excuses for wad he did!!!”
If Nelly’s bodyguard is taking the fall for him I hope he receives a big bonus check. I guess we won’t know who the drugs really belonged to. When I first came across this story it was all I could do to complete the first sentence without asking the question as to why these celebrities keep using this interstate. Hasn’t Willie or Snoop Dogg sent out a friendly memo to the celebrity puffers warning them to take a freagin’ detour? Oh well, I can only trust the heroin wasn’t Nelly’s, the weed ain’t no thang, but ‘heyron’? Lord help.
