Last year was an incredible year for the HMJ movement. Despite the fact that we had covered several events in the year, I was shocked when I found an invited to this years AVN awards. I was even more humbled when I found out that it was the 30th anniversary of the award ceremony and that the hosts were two young ladies who I am a huge fan of. Asa Akira and Jesse Jane have been in my rotation for quite some time now and so it was amazing to see them in person as well as tons of other ladies that you only get that close to when you visit Pornhub (NSFW link). This would also be my very first trip to Las Vegas, the city of sin. I had to pinch myself to make sure this was real.

The journey there from Los Angeles was only 4 hours and we arrived at our hotel on the night before we were scheduled to do several interviews with pornstars. I had to take a moment to appreciate how far we have come. I also had to take a moment to appreciate how much our hotel sucked. I learned from locals (and the hard way) that you should always stay on the strip when you visit Vegas. Good to know.

Our first few days at the adult entertainment expo consisted of conducting several interviews with beautiful ladies of the adult industry, meeting with vendors and interacting with fanboys. Lets just say, they were very happy to see the ladies. As were we. We interviewed more than 15 ladies including Chanel Preston, Aryana Augustine, Syren De Mer, Brandi Love, Sativa Verte, Celeste Star, Chastity Lynn, Prinzzess, India Summer, Angela Sommers, Jelena Jensen and many many more.

We even ended up finding this very interesting smoking device.

The award show went off without a hitch in a place within the hard rock casino that had a name that I considered very appropriate for a party I was at.

The show was hosted by Jesse Jane, Asa Akira, and comedian April Macie, whom Howard Stern dubbed the “funniest, hottest comedienne.” Tributes were paid to the people who have passed away, Tyga performed and then the awards were handed out. There were tons of hilarious and moments that would be sexually awkward for regular folk like you and me; these moments were not only natural but comfortable for this crowd. I truly felt like I had entered a different world but I loved every moment of it. You can read the full AVN award show wrap up here.
