If you’ve ever been to a dispensary, it probably didn’t take long for you to realize that CBD can be infused in just about anything, from food to tinctures and everything in between. One of the latest trends in the CBD world is CBD water, which is exactly what you think it is – bottled water that’s been infused with cannabinoids.

What is CBD Water?

CBD water sounds unreal to most experienced cannabis connoisseurs, or at least impossible to make. That’s because CBD and all other cannabinoids are fat-soluble, meaning it’s impossible to extract them from the plant using water as they are hydrophobic. But that hasn’t stopped creative entrepreneurs from finding a way to infuse nature’s most abundant resource with everyone’s favorite cannabinoid using innovative new technologies.

CBD water is made using a process called nanotechnology, which uses soundwaves to break up CBD clusters into micro-sized particles that are smaller than 100 nanometers. The result is a “water compatible” product that is small enough to dissolve and blend with water molecules, allowing for immediate bioavailability that many brands call the “nano-amplified effect.”

While other CBD products that have to reach the digestive system before taking effect, the nano-sized nutrients available in CBD water soar past the blood-brain barrier and penetrate cells immediately, allowing for nearly 100% bioavailability and absorption. These immediate, CBD-filled effects are why so many people enjoy drinking CBD water over other CBD edibles, although there are benefits to all of it depending on what you’re looking to achieve.

Best CBD Water

As with many CBD products, lots of companies are coming up with their own versions of CBD water. We haven’t tried them all, but we do have some favorites that we trust and recommend.

CBD Naturals has two different kinds of CBD water, a Hemp Rain Hemp-Infused Water as well as Nano H20. The Hemp Rain water is infused with potassium, magnesium, and electrolytes to promote overall wellness and healthy muscle growth. The Nano H20 is an alkaline formula infused with vitamins, minerals, and a full-spectrum THC-free CBD oil.

All of these products are made using the nanotechnology mentioned above, so no matter which one you try, you’re going to get practically immediate effects and close to 100% bioavailability with every product. The main factors you’ll have to look into when deciding which products are right for you are based on the added nutrients. If you want pure CBD water with no added supplements, Native CBD is probably more ideal for you. However, if you work out regularly and want something that will help build muscle, CBD Living water is a great option with its CoQ10 content. If you want something that will help with recovery, Hemp Rain CBD Water’s magnesium and electrolytes will keep you hydrated.

Is it worth to drink CBD Water?

The reasons people have for consuming CBD vary, from chronic pain and inflammation to nausea-related symptoms of chemotherapy to general overall wellness. CBD is known to work as a powerful pain-reliever and anti-inflammatory, and the benefit is that there are no psychoactive effects and it is made of safe and non-addictive plant materials. The effects that CBD will have on you will depend on many factors including your experience with cannabis and CBD, your tolerance level, your current ailments and condition, your endocannabinoid levels, and other factors. All of this will not only affect how CBD interacts with your body and the effects you will feel, but also whether or not it is worth it for you to take as a supplement.
We think that CBD water is a great place to start because of the exceptionally high bioavailability levels and high rate of absorption. With CBD water, you’ll feel the effects much faster than you will with an edible that is absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract. This makes it a convenient way to find immediate relief, or relief in the meantime while you’re waiting for your edibles to kick in.
If you’ve ever found CBD to improve your quality of life in any way, CBD water is worth the try.

CBD Water Dosage

cbd water dosage

Due to a lack of human studies on CBD in general, much less the effects of CBD water versus other methods of CBD consumption, it is difficult to gauge exactly how much CBD you will need in order to relieve pain, calm inflammation, or feel any other effects you seek.

In general, high doses of CBD up to 1500mg per day are tolerated by chronically ill patients, although it is mostly unheard of for any product to offer that in a single dose. Most CBD waters you’ll find will contain anywhere between 5 and 20mg of CBD, and they are made to consume like any other water beverage so you don’t have to ration it for appropriate dosing. The best way to find a proper dosage for you is to experiment with different doses and products, record how each one makes you feel, and go from there. Everyone’s endocannabinoid system is different so the effects will vary depending on your cannabinoid levels and where your system needs the most help.

We hope these suggestions make it a bit easier for you to find the right CBD water product to try. Have you tried any of these before? Share your favorite CBD water in the comments!
