You are currently viewing Mighty Vaporizer Review

The Mighty is kind of like the Crafty’s big brother, both of which were released by Storz and Bickel. These guys were the makers of the desktop volcano that made everybody go ga-ga for vaping. So how do they stack up when it comes to packing all of that technology into a hand-held? While the Mighty isn’t the smallest or post portable handheld vaporizer on the market, it stacks up as one of the best for vape consistency and battery life.

Size and design

Just like the Crafty, the Mighty vaporizer is not much to look at. Actually, it’s kind of ugly. If you want something shiny to flash, this vaporizer is not the one for you. On the other hand, if you’re actually avid about vaping and enjoy a good quality vape, then you’ll be drooling over the Mighty. Storz and Bickel seem to have invested most of their time and money into designing something that works extremely well, rather than something that looks appetizing.

It’s heavy, weighing around half a pound – and bulky, especially when you compare it to the Pax 3. The size and weight probably has something to do with the enormous heating element inside the unit. It does, however, still fit into the palm of your hand. It doesn’t have to be a microchip for it to be discrete and using it on the sly. But it might weigh down your pockets a bit if you’re carrying it in your pants.

The ugly plastic cage-like design is that way to keep your hands cool while the heating element is doing its work. It gives a couple of centimetres between your hand and the heating element so that you don’t have to fry your palms half-way through a session.

There is some debate about Storz and Bickel’s choice to use plastic for the mouthpiece, too. But there doesn’t seem to be any flavor transfer of plastic during vaping, and we’ll assume they took safety considerations into account. Plus, it feels well built in your hand.

The Mighy vaporizer ticks the box of portability, moderate discreteness and a great build quality. So don’t turn your head just at the sight of the Mighty when you’re shopping for your next vape.

Heating, temperature and vapor quality

Thanks to the enormous heating element and hybrid convection/conduction heating, we’re talking about a vape quality that’s just as good as the desktop Volcano by Storz and Bickel. The airflow allows the user to take long, deep inhales that produce really decent clouds. Plus, the chamber fits quite a bit of weed in there so you can have longer sessions. And even if you want a smaller session, it will still vape just as well.

The Mighty vaporizer features a degree by degree temperature control system on the LED display at the front of the unit, something you could only do with the Crafty if you had the smartphone app. No need for another device to control the Mighty – it comes fully equipped.

Although the Mighty comes equipped with liquid pads for vaping concentrates, the temperature doesn’t get extremely high, meaning you might not get the best efficiency when it comes to oils. However, when it comes to vaping dry herbs, the Mighty is mighty indeed.

Storz and Bickel might have put a hefty price tag on the Mighty but you don’t have to compromise on vape quality at all. There’s something to be said about the vape quality of portable handhelds compared to desktop vaporizers. People tend to use their portables only when they are on the go. But with the Mighty, there’s literally no need for a desktop vaporizer. It packs all of the quality into a portable.

How to use the Mighty

The Mighty is easy to use even if you’ve literally never seen a vaporizer before. The orange button turns the device on, and it begins to heat up to your selected temperature. After turning it on, use the + and – buttons to select the temperature you like to vape at. The Mighty will vibrate to let you know it’s ready to be used.

The device has an auto shut-off period of 2 minutes. It will let you know that it’s turning off by vibrating so that you can switch it back on if you wish to continue using it. It might sound annoying, but this feature saves battery and saves you burning away all your herb if you happen to walk away from the unit and forget about it.

Battery life

Because the Mighty has an epic battery and battery life, it unfortunately doesn’t come with the USB charging capabilities that the Crafty has. But that doesn’t take away from how much the Mighty shines in this area. It gives the user over 1.5 hours of continuous use, even at the highest temperature setting. So while it doesn’t look like the best portable vape, it is because the battery life is made for it.

To charge the Mighty, it needs to be plugged into the wall and takes about 2 hours from empty to full. However, it has pass-through features which means you can use it while it’s charging. There’s no need to wait for it to reach 20% – you can basically use it from dead while it’s attached to the wall adapter.

Cleaning

The Mighty comes apart relatively easy, making it pretty simple to clean. All of the parts can be removed and washed. It’s pretty simple. To clean the mouthpiece use a cue tip that’s soaked in rubbing alcohol and get in there. The oven can be cleaned using the brush that comes included in the box.

Accessories to complement The Mighty

Like the Crafty, you can get some pretty nifty accessories from Storz and Bickel such as the magazine dose capsule. It looks just like a firearm magazine and lets you store 8 doses in it. Perfect for traveling around with.

Otherwise, if you want to cool down the temperature of your vape even more, you can invest in something like the ZEUSIceborn by ZEUSArsenal. It’s attachable to any vaporizer, so will also fit on the Mighty and is an ice filter for your vape. It makes your vaping experience extra frosty.

Final thoughts – Should we buy the Mighty Vaporizer?

If you can afford to fork out the extra money for the Mighty, you won’t be disappointed. And your vape will outlast just about all of your friends’ vapes at a session when it comes to battery life. The Mighty really is worth the price. It’s good for sessions that are away from home because the battery really does last – and the unit gives you a vaping quality just as good as a desktop. Portable: check. Battery life: check. Easy to use so that even your novice friends can use it: check. An unmatchable vape quality: check. There’s really nothing bad to say about the Mighty! It’s worth the big bucks.
